Bengals and Steelers Part One in November

The Bengals and Steelers had an infamous trio of meetings in 2015 and they all started on November 1.

Pittsburgh was another fun road trip for the Bengals coverage squad of Jim Owczarski, Paul Dehner Jr., Kareem Elgazzar and myself. And for just for good measure, they threw Reds beat writer C. Trent Rosecrans on the Bengals ride with us for this game. Any road trip we get to make that can be made via car instead of airplane is a real relief after the first few flights of the season, so Pittsburgh and Cleveland end up being ones we look forward to.

Bengals-Steelers Part I will be a game I’ll always remember. Not really because of anything that happened on the field, although it was a pretty good game, but because my nephew Benjamin was born that day and I got the announcement from my brother via text message right in the middle of the pre-game National Anthem.

Look at that little guy…

The game was a rough one, though. Hard hits, late hits, cheap hits, you name it. The game was the first of three really rough ones between the Bengals and Steelers in 2015 that boiled over in the playoffs.

College basketball also got moving in November and Xavier University began what would turn into a historic season for its program.
